Bill Pope gave The Matrix one of cinemas most recognizable color signatures: the green tint. Every scene inside the Matrix simulation carries a subtle-to-heavy green cast. The real world is rendered in cold blue-steel tones, desaturated and harsh. The contrast between the two creates an immediate visual grammar.
